What's for Breakfast Mommy?

I asked Ella what she would like for breakfast over the weekend and while making stern hand gestures with her fingers she said, "Ponies (fruit snacks), chocolate, and bananas." Let's be happy she's not living off on her own yet with that sort of meal plan. ;) At least she's got the fruit in the mix.

Ella's vocabulary has sky rocketed in the past couple weeks. She has utterly shocked us with the things that she says which makes us usually giggle. It's so fun to be able to have conversations with our daughter and finally understand all the things that she has been trying to get out to us previously. Right now I could describe our daughter as... very outgoing, lovable, and a princess with a hint of tom boy in her. She loves to wear her cotton dresses which for some reason she calls herself a "flower princess" while wearing them. However, most mornings it is a battle getting her ready because she hates to take off her pjs and recently has refused allowing bows to be put in her hair. We hear a lot of "No Mommy, No Daddy, that's not NOT nice." She uses the double negative to emphasize how not nice things are. LOL. It's hard not to laugh because she's so cute with her serious face. Ella has become very musical; she loves to be sung to every night. She calls out "Wakka Key Baby Daddy" before bed; Jonah then sings to her a couple songs; then she says "Wakka Key Mommy" and I travel into the room to sing her to sleep. The "wakka key" comes from "rocka by baby" which we've been singing to her for quite some time; the missed pronunciation seems to have stuck. She loves to play the piano with me during the day while I practice various music for church. She'll sing aloud while plunking on the piano pretending to read the music while she plays. Perhaps a little Mozart in our family? :) We are already so proud.

Our little family is healthy and doing well. Jonah has been busy at work and then spends a lot of his free time applying for various job positions. Most week days I spend the morning/early afternoon watching Ella's best friend, Hannah. It's fun getting the girls together and having our little play dates. Otherwise, I take up the time with most household chores, dinner, etc. We have been blessed with close friends that that are a joy to spend time with throughout the weeks. We will be traveling to a base north of us to visit with friends for this Thanksgiving holiday.

My pregnancy has been going rather well. I'm starting to feel the discomforts of the 3rd trimester. For those of you that do not know, we will be naming our newest addition to the family Esme (old french language meaning loved) Rose. You can google it for the correct pronunciation. We felt it was appropriate for the time that she will be born (our wedding anniversary and valentine's day). The only complications (which I'll find out today if they are even something to be concerned about) that I have had throughout this pregnancy was during one of my ultrasounds where one of Esme's kidneys was discovered slightly dilated. I am going in today for another ultrasound to have them checked; if it is still the case, I will be having to see a specialist on the matter. However, my doctor has informed me that this is common sometimes during the baby's development and he is predicting that everything will be normal for today's ultrasound. I'll keep you all informed if this continues to be a concern. I'm excited that in 3 months our little one will be here and looking forward to Ella meeting her baby sister.

I'll post photos after the holidays this weekend. We are so thankful for friends and family and the blessings that God has provided for our beautiful family. Love to you all and Happy Thanksgiving!
